  1. Get 250 Gms Kabuli Chole
  2. Prepare Water
  3. Get 2 tsp Salt
  4. Take 3 Tomatoes

  7. Get 2 – 3 Green Chillies
  8. Get 2 tsp Tea
  9. Make ready 1/2 tsp Baking Soda or Meetha Soda

  12. Prepare Hing
  13. Get 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  14. Get 1 tsp Anardana Powder or Amchur Powder
  15. Make ready 1/2 tsp Haldi Powder
  16. Take 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder

Steps to make Masala Chole:
  1. Fry it for few seconds on medium flame and then reduce the flame to low. - - Add turmeric powder and red chilli powder, mix it and cook it for few seconds on low flame. - - Add ginger, garlic and onion paste, cover the lid(without whistle) and cook it for one minute on medium flame. - - Put cumin powder, coriander powder and chole masala, mix it properly.
  3. Cover the lid(without whistle) and cook it for 1/2 minute on medium flame. - - Add tomato paste, cover the lid(without whistle) and cook it for one minute on medium flame. - - Add soaked chickpeas, mix it and cover the pan, cook it for a minute on low flame. - - Put 1.5 glass of water and salt, stir it well and close the lid of pressure cooker properly. - - Cook it for 5 whistles on low-medium flame.
  4. After five whistles, turn off the flame and let the pressure cooker cool down completely.

I recently bought punjabi chole and chana marsala and they look almost identical, have almost all the same ingredients but one has waay more calories than the other! This chole masala is made by grinding together all onion, tomato, ginger, garlic, mint and coriander Has distinct flavour as it has mint and coriander leaves in it.
