Just the beautiful golden colour of this Moong Dal Dosa (Pesarattu) is enough to make you drool!. Made of parboiled rice and moong dal, soaked, ground and fermented. We often eat dosa prepared with urad dal and rice. Today we will make moong dal dosa which is crusty in taste.

Steps to make Dal stuffed dosa:
  1. Rinse and soak chana dal for 4-5 hours, drain all the water and keep that 1/4 cup soaked dal separately, grind together 1/2 cup soaked dal adding all the ingredients under the heading ‘ For Stuffing ‘ almost without water
  2. Transfer into a container or idli plates and steam it for 10 to 12 minutes, let it cool then crumble it & keep it aside
  3. Heat ghee / oil in a pan, add onion and saute till soft, add chopped green chilli, 1/4 cup soaked dal, steamed crumbled dal,curry leaves, coconut and salt, mix everything well and remove from the heat & the stuffing is ready
  4. Heat dosay/dosa tawa, Pour a laddle full of batter to make small dosay/dosa (no need to spread it on the tawa), immediately sprinkle the prepared stuffing on it and smear little oil and let it cook
  5. Flip and cook on the other side too, serve with any chutney or goes well with coconut chutney

This can be prepared for breakfast, lunch or dinner or whenever you feel like. Dal Dosa (Masoor Dal Dosai, Toor dal Dosai, Carrot Dosai, Orange Dosai, Carrot Adai): A dosa made using any kind of dal as the main ingredient. I made a little variation from the traditional Adai recipe which is popularly made in Tamilnadu. I used Moong dal , chana dal, urad dal, thuvar dal, Masoor dal (Panchmeli Dal mix).
