  4. To make aloo masala: heat oil in a kadahi, add cumins and mustard seeds and curry leaves, let it crackle. Add onions, saute till golden brown, add tomatoes and green chilli and saute for 2-3 minutes or till tomatoes are done. Add crushed potatoes, salt and turmeric powder and mix then cook for 2-3 minutes. Your aloo masala is ready.
