This Tomato pulao is a Karnataka style recipe with tomatoes and rice cooked in a melange of spices ground to paste. This one pot wonder makes for a perfect relaxed spicy Sunday brunch. Instructions to make Tomato Pulao:
  1. First Make fine puree of 2 boiled tomatoes. You can make it with raw tomatoes too. But it won't give you nice bright colour. And chop one tomato in bite size chunks.
  2. Heat oil in wok and add Cumin seeds, Hing, Green chilles and grated ginger garlic. And saute it till it become golden.
  3. Then add onion and fry it till it gets nice golden brown texture. Once onion gets golden brown, add green peas and cook it for another 2-3 mins.
  4. It's time to add tomato puree. Also add Ciba Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder, Achari masala, turmeric. Mix it and let it cook till oil floats on top.
  5. Once it is done, add parboiled rice (prefer long grain). And gently mix it so grain won't break. Add coriander, few leaves of pudina, chopped tomato and salt as per your taste. And let get cook with lid on for 3-5 mins.
  6. Once rice gets perfectly cook, add some more coriander and pudina leaves and serve it.
