Steps to make Veg Steamed Momos:
  1. For stuffing: - In a pan, heat oil on a medium flame. Add chopped ginger and garlic. Saute for 3-4 seconds.
  2. Add chopped onions and saute for 15-20 seconds.
  3. Add all the finely chopped vegetables and stir fry on a medium to high flame for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Now add salt, pepper powder and soy sauce. Stir continuously for 2-3 minutes. Turn off the stove and let the mix cool down.
  5. For making outer cover: - Take all purpose flour (maida) and salt in a bowl, add water in small portions and knead to a soft dough.
  6. Grease your hands with some oil and knead the dough again until smooth yet stiff dough.
  7. Cover the dough and let it rest for 10-15 minutes to set.
  8. Shaping the momos: - Divide the dough into small portions and make smooth balls.
  9. Take one dough ball and dust with dry flour. Roll out the dough ball into 2-3 inch diameter thin circles. Make sure that while rolling the circle it is not too thin at the center.
  10. Place a tsp of stuffing in the center and lift one side of the edge and start pleating one by one. Twist to seal it in the center.
  11. Prepare all the momos in this way and and cover them under a moist napkin to prevent from drying.
  12. Steaming momos: - Prepare the steamer by adding 2 cups of water and place it on a medium flame for simmering.
  13. Grease the steamer tray with oil and place the shaped momos at some distance on it.. Cover the lid.
  14. Now let the momos steam cook for 8-10 minutes. Keep the flame medium to high.
  15. Remove from the steamer and serve hot with red chilli garlic chutney.
