Steps to make Appe payasa / Poori ke kheer:
  1. Mix whole wheat flour, semolina and salt to a tight dough and keep to rest for 15-20 mins.. Take fine variety of semolina or else powder the regular semolina before use.
  2. Keep milk for boiling on medium heat. Meanwhile fry all the dry fruits in ghee and keep aside.
  3. Heat oil in a kadhai, roll out thin puris out of the dough and deep fry them on medium heat to make them crisp.
  4. After frying break the poories into pieces and add to the boiling milk, let it boil for a while till it becomes thick and all the poories have soaked nicely in milk.
  5. Add sugar and boil for 5-6 mins till all the mixture is combined well and is thick.. Put of the flame, add fried nuts and serve hot.
