Mandakki oggarane or mandakki susla is a very simple and healthy breakfast recipe. Masala Mandakki or crispy puffed rice snack is very addictive snack to munch on anytime of the day. Quick and easy to make pori oggarane is best with coffee or tea or to take with you on hike or when you travel. The advantage of this masala mandakki is prepare in bulk and store it in airtight container.

- To Make the delicious Mandakki Oggarne, heat a pan and add oil to it for tempering.
- Add the mustard seeds, and as soon as they splutter add the asafoetida, green chillies, curry leaves and stir.
- Add the udid daal and saute for a few seconds.
- Add the chopped onions and saute. Cover and cook, which helps to hasten the cooking process.
- At the same time heat a small kadhai and add 2 teaspoons oil to it.
- Add the raw peanuts to the hot oil and saute for a minute on high heat and set aside.
- Now, check the onions and if they have turned translucent, add the turmeric powder and mix.
- At the same time, add the chopped tomatoes and mix well. Cover and cook till they turn mushy, which is done in almost 2 minutes.
- In the meantime soak the puffed rice in sufficient water for about a minute and drain immediately.
- Squeeze well and set aside.
- Next, add the roasted gram powder and jaggery to the onion tomato mixture and mix well.
