- Add one and half tsp salt to the batter and mix well.
- Now heat the Idli Steamer with enough water.
- Grease the idli plates with oil lightly. Fill the moulds with batter.
- When the water begins to bubble and steam up, place the stand in the steamer. Cover and steam for 10 minutes on a medium high flame.
- Remove the idli stand and set aside for 2-3 minutes to cool down. With the help of a spoon remove the idlis to a plate.
- Serve the delicious ragi idlis warm with tomato chutney/rasam or sambar.
