Instructions to make Apple Fish:
- Clean the fish thoroughly - Lay it flat on a cutting board. Using a sharp knife, slice off about 1/4 inch strip from the underside of the fish - the section between the head and lower fin. - To steam the fish: Place the wrapped fish directly in a bamboo steamer(or other type of steamer), seam-side up for 7-8 minutes.You can also place the wrapped fish on a pan over a stove top on low flame for 3 minutes and then carefully flip the envelope and cook for another 2 minutes. If using a microwave oven, simply place the wrapped fish on the microwave rotating plate and set time for 4 minutes.I have cooked 1 fish using a microwave and the other using a pan on Induction cook top.
- Serve hot with steamed rice and salad.
