The ingredients needed to make Instant Kalakand !!:
- Take Paneer(grated or crumbled fine)
- Get Condensed milk
- Make ready Milk powder (Nestle brand)

This method is quite simple and quicker version compared to conventional method. I have used microwave oven to make this dish. Instant Kalakand is a popular and traditional Indian sweet. The traditional way of making Kalakand is very time consuming, but using paneer/cottage cheese make it easy and quick.
Steps to make Instant Kalakand !!:
- Take a non stick pan,put the ingredients one by one. First add the grated paneer in the pan.
- Then add in the milk powder.
- Lastly pour in the condensed milk.
- Now mix everything well.
- Now switch on the gas, when it gets heated, keep mixing it with a spatula. When it starts cooking it will first look watery. Keep stirring constantly from all the sides or else it will stick.
- This process takes about 5 to 6 minutes.It starts getting thick by this time.Then turn off the gas.
- Put cardamom powder in the pan and mix well.And let it cool slightly
- In the meantime grease a square tin with ghee or butter and then pour this mixture in it. I used my baking tin here.Press this from the sides evenly with a greased flat spatula.
- Put the sliced/chopped nuts on the mixture and gently press it so that they stick to the sweet and let it set in the refrigerator for about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
- Cut them later into squares and serve the Kalakand to your loved ones.
- This can be made for any occasion.
Since this is largely based on the milk solids (paneer) - I have described the paneer process as well for making this recipe. Kalakand- this kalakand recipe made with ricotta cheese is the easy version of the traditional kalakand, a milk based Indian fudge. If using milk powder add that as well and the sugar. This one is my instant version and it is so easy to make and taste just like store bought ones, actually more tasty than them.
