  1. Turn on the flame of the gas and dry roast the Moong Dal for 4 mins in slow and medium flame. Wash and soak in water for 30 mins.
  2. Then Pressure cook it and wait for 3 whistle and wait to release it's gas by it's own. Now take another Pan and place it on gas stove and pour 1 Teaspoon of ghee and now boil Dal for 2 to 3 mins.
  3. Then in another Pan melt Jaggery with 3/4 th Cup Water and just pour it to the Moong Dal and cook it for 15 mins in slow flame.
  4. Now add coconut milk and stir it continuously for 2 mins in slow flame. Add cardamom powder, Don't over cook it,Turn off the flame.
  5. Now take another Pan and place it on the gas and pour there 1 Teaspoon of ghee then roast all Nuts, chopped coconut, raisins turn off the gas. Now pour it to the prepared Payasam. It's ready cool it and serve with grated Coconut.

Amma usually insists to make dal payasam during festival times and its always a treat. Pasi Paruppur Payasam is a traditional South Indian Payasam made of moong dal and jaggery.
