Steps to make Fish Biryani /Biriani ya samaki:
- In a bowl add, 2 tbsp fish masala,2 tbsp of garlic ginger paste, 3 tbsp of cooking oil, 1 tbsp of white pepper powder, salt and a dash of vinegar… Mix well,marinate your fish pieces and set aside for 30 mins
- Deep fry until golden brown and crisp. Set them aside
- Cut 6 large onions and deep fry them till golden brown
- In a cooking pot add 5 to 6 tbsp of oil and add in ur garlic ginger paste
- Saute for 2 mins and in the Fennel seeds, cumin seeds, dry bay leaves, biriani masala, star Anise and cinnamon. Stir and saute it for 2 minutes
- Add in the blended tomatoes, 1 cup of yogurt and the fried onions
- Stir and cover to let it cook till it has reduced in half
- Add in your fried fish pieces now
- Stir gently and let it cook on low heat till cooked. For about 5 mins on low heat. It's ready
- For the rice boil 2 cups of water and add a few Fennel seeds, a. Few cumin seeds, 2 cinnamon sticks, 3 cardamom pods, 2 dry bay leaves and salt.
- Let the water come to a boil and add in 2 cups of washed rice.
- Cook on it on low heat, till all the water dries up.
- Remove it and make holes in the rice using a fork and add orange food coloring into it
- Put in the oven for 15 minutes to completely dry up
- Your fish biriani is ready. Serve and enjoy with some fried chili
