Chettinad cuisine is believed to be the most aromatic and spiciest cuisine in India. Crab Masala: My mom used to make Crab Masala and I used to love it. A few weeks back, I found fresh crab in the market and suddenly remembered this dish so thought of making.
Steps to make masala crab:
- clean crab with salt to take out the fishy smell
- for crab marination
- add 4 tablespoon of sesame oil
- 4 table spoon of oyster sauce
- add a pinch of salt and pepper
- 4 tablespoon of chillie powder
- marinate all this on the crab and leave it for 20mins
- heat wok with veg oil
- deep fry the marinated crab
- for the masala sauce
- take a bowl and put 7 table spoons of fish masala powder, add water to make it as a paste ball
- heat wok with 5 table spoon of that oil USED FOR THE FRIED CRAB
- stir fry the chillie,onion,garlic,cinnamon stick,cloves,bay leave
- then add the paste fish masala ball and stir nicely
- add 1 cup of water
- add fish sauce and pinch of salt
- add 2 table spoon of chillie powder
- once it comes to a boil
- add in the fried crab n let simmer for 5 mins and off the stove
Place crab and enough water in the pan. Cook till the crab turns tender. Add coconut milk and remaining tomatoes. Delicious Crab Masala, Spicy and tangy with a totally Desi taste. With clean and cut crabs from Sea Fiesta, its as easy as cooking any other dish.
