  1. Marinate the crab pieces with salt and 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder for 10 -15 minutes. Heat some oil in a pan and saute the marinated crab for 4-5 minutes or until the pieces turns red.Take them out and keep aside.
  2. Heat the remaining oil in the same pan. Add bay leaf and mustard seeds, once seeds splattered, add onion paste and ginger-garlic paste. Fry it for 2-3 minutes and then add tomato puree, stircontinuously.
  3. Add in all the dry masala powders - coriander, cumin, turmeric, red chili and salt to taste.Mix well. Fry this masala for another 5-6 minutes on medium heat or till the masala leaves oil.Add in about a cup and half of water. Turn the heat to high and bring to a boil.
  4. Once the gravy starts boiling, dip in the sautéed crab pieces. Mix it all nicely and reduce the heat to low, cover it and let it simmer for about 10 minutes or until it is done.Sprinkle the garam masala and garnish it with chopped fresh coriander. Serve hot with steamed rice or chappati or bread. Bon Appetit!
