- Grease idli plates with oil. Pour idli batter in Idli plates. Add 1 glass of water in idli maker. Bring a boil. Put idli plates in maker. Cover the lid. Steam it for 12-15 minutes. Check with knife. If it comes out clear then switch off gas.
- Remove plates from idli maker. Let it cool. Serve hot with sambhar or your choice of chutney.
