Instructions to make Chicken Pilau:

  2. Cut and wash the chicken then place pieces in the marinade mixture made above in step one. Make sure the chicken is fully covered in the marinade then set aside or place in a refrigerator for a minimum of thirty minutes.
  3. After marinating the chicken. Boil the chicken in the marinade until it is cooked and the marinade has dried out. (This step is purely optional. Otherwise remove the chicken from the marinade it will cook at a later stage.)
  4. Wash rice and set aside. Take cooking oil and place in cooking dish.
  5. Chop the onions, green capsicum and garlic finely.
  6. When the oil is hot, pour in pilau masala and let it cook for a few seconds before adding the chopped ingredients.
  7. When the onions have turned golden brown add the chicken in the oil and let it brown over if it was cooked in the marinade. If the chicken is raw let it cook until it is well done.
  8. Add the water and rice and a little salt to taste. Let it cook over medium heat then reduce to low heat as the water evaporates. Once all the water has gone switch off the heat and let it sit for a few minutes before serving.
  9. Serve and enjoy with a glass of Sprite.
