The ingredients needed to make Methi gota:
- Make ready 750 gms Fenugreek leaves Finely Chopped
- Take 100 gm Coriander leaves Finely Chopped
- Prepare As needed Curd
- Get As needed Oil
- Get 2 Cup Gram Flour
- Get 1/4 Cup Thick Wheat Flour
- Make ready 4-5 green chillies
- Take 1 tbsp Red chilli powder
- Prepare 1/4 tsp Asafoetida
- Make ready 1 tsp haldi (Turmeric )powder
- Take 1/2 tsp Ginger paste
- Get 1 tsp sugar
- Prepare to taste Salt
Basically these are fritters made with besan/gram flour and fenugreek leaves. they are usually served as a snack during tea time. Methi Na Gota- Fresh Fenugreek leaves and chick pea flour fritters. Methi Na Gota is a very popular deep fried snack from Gujarat. Methi Gota's are very famous in Dakor so also popular as Dakor na.
Instructions to make Methi gota:
- In a large mixing bowl add wheat flour, pour of oil on it and mix well. - - Now add gram flour and mix it well. Add oil and give it a nice mix again
- Next, add the spices, firstly add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, asafetida, sugar, salt ginger paste, green chilies, and mix well all the ingredients. - - Add methi or fenugreek leaves, please note that the leaves should be absolutely dry, add coriander leaves, sprinkle salt and oil. Start with blending the fenugreek and coriander leaves and later with the flour and spice mixture.
- Add curd accordingly and blend it well. It should be of medium-thick consistency. - - Let the batter rest for 5-10 minutes. - - Heat oil in a kadhai and once it is hot, add a spoonful into the batter and stir it well.
- Once the oil is medium hot, take in a spoonful of batter and gently drop it into the oil, you can use your hands as well.
- Turn and flip them over until they have a nice golden colour. When it does, take them out in a kitchen towel lined plate. - - Fry the next batch the same.serve hot with chutney and sauce. Serve with tea.
