- Now smashed the moong dal. Add red chilli powder and coriander seed powder. Mix well. Add chopped sweet potato, tomato and green chilli. Add tamarind juice and 1 cup water.
- Then add salt, jaggery. Mix all ingredients together. You can add the vegetables of your choice and whatever available in the fridge.
- And again cook in pressure cooker for 1 whistle. Immediately switch off the gas. Allow the cooker to release the pressure.
- Open the cooker. Add water if required to adgust the consistency. Now heat the oil in a small pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, red chillies, curry leaves.
- Switch off the gas. Add tadka to the dal. Mix well. Boil dal for 2 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Moong dal sambar is ready to serve. You can serve it with rice, idly, dosa or vada.
