- Prepare 2 boiled (peeled and mashed) potatoes

- Take 1 tsp asafoetida
- Make ready as needed Oil for shallow frying
- Make ready 1 tbsp maida
- Get 1 tbsp cornflour
- Make ready 4-5 tbsp water
Kala Chana is very high in protein and provides a nutritional meal. It has a low glycemic index and is a good protein option for people with Diabetes. Kala Chana is a variation of the commonly found chickpea but it is dark brown in color and smaller in size. It is also known as Bengal gram.
Steps to make Black gram (kala chana) & green moong sprout kabab:
- Make sprout of moong by soaking overnight
- There after drain the water
- Tie in a cloth and hang in an airy place for 2 days
- Soak black gram overnight
- Boil black gram and sprouted moong (green gram) with 1 glass water in a pressure cooker along with Salt,both cardamom seeds,cinnamon,cloves, asafoetida garlic,ginger,black pepper corn for 3-4 whistles on medium heat
- Let it cool, drain the water
- Then grind it without any water
- In a large mixing bowl take this paste
- Add potatoes, half cup bread crumbs
- Red chilli powder,coriander leaves, chaat masala and cumin powder
- Mix well
- Make patties and keep in a refrigirator for10-15 minutes
- In a bowl make slurry with maida cornflour and water
- Dip the patties in the slurry
- Coat with remaining bread crumbs
- Shallow fry in a non stick pan till brown in both sides
- Enjoy with tea and any chutney
How to Make Hari Moong and Kala Chana Sprouts. Sprouting is the process of germinating seeds, beans, and even whole cereals (such as wheat). You may boil the green gram and black gram sprouts, if you do not like them raw. But boil only till they are tender. Do not over boil as it will destroy.
