This one is my MIL's special sambar. So I make it at least once in a week. It tastes similar to hotel sambar. Idli Sambar is an unbeatable combo, I love to eat idli with both sambar and coconut chutney.
Steps to make Sambar(with IDLI):
- Wash and clean the dal.
- Soak it for one hour
- Then boil it in the pressure cooker for 15 minutes by adding sufficient water,, approximately 3 cups
- Heat A wok,, Add mustard seeds,, and hing,roast it till done..add zeera to it let it roast till aroma comes out
- Add Curry leaves to it
- Now Add chopped onion,,ginger..grated raw turmeric,,chopped green chillies,,saute them for a while
- Then add sliced carrots and French beans to it
- Saute them till soft the veggies
- Add All the MASALA S,,saute them till aroma,,add salt,,and boiled dal to it.
- Add imli pulp and some more water as the consistency needed.
- Add sugar
- Sambar is ready to serve.add chopped coriander
- Serve hot with steamed rice,, DOSA,, IDLIS,,Vadas..as you Wish.
