So far I have posted many sabzi recipes that can be had with chapatis or rotis. Palak ki sabzi which is posted here takes very few ingredients without any masala and tastes delicious. Other sabzi recipes that should be served with chapati are cabbage sabzi, methi bhaji, aloo gobhi ki sabji, aloo methi , cauliflower sabzi etc… It is made dry and the moong dal is cooked soft but not mushy. It is very light on the stomach and goes well with bhakri, paratha, chapati, chawal ki roti or with plain rice and Gujarati kadhi.
Steps to make Palak Mung Dal sabzi:
- Thoroughly wash and then soak the mung dal for approx 1 hour.
- In a wok add oil. Once the oil is hot add asafoetida, garlic and sauté until light brown. Then add green chillies, and onions and sauté.
- Drain the water from the mung dal and add the mung dal in the kadhai with 5 tbsp of water and the spices (turmeric, red chilly powder2020202) and stir everything well.
- Cover and cook for 10 mins. Keep stirring every now and then.
- The water should now be evaporated and the dal cooked.
- Now add the chopped spinach/ palak and salt and stir well.
- Cover and cook for 5-7 mins.
- Sabzi is ready!!
